Mr. Gharibpur: “There should be more reviving projects for small mines.”
Mr. Gharibpur, the IMIDRO’s charman, brought into everyone attention the need for more reviving and reactivating small mines.
According to the Mining Investment Insurance Corporation’s public relations, Mr. Gharibpur said, in a meeting with the members of coordinating council regarding reviving and reactivating small mines: “some of the big companies, like National Copper Company, have entered this project in order to reactivate the small and suspended mines, and now the way have to be paved for other minerals like iron ore too, and iron ore and steel companies have to be able to cooperate and participate more in this projects.”
The people present in the meeting included the CEO of IMPASCO, the chairman of Iran Mine House, The executor of the projects of reviving and reactivation small mines, the chairman of Mine and Mining Industry of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, the CEO of Mining Investment Insurance Corporation and the representative of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade. 
“Now we have a professional team,” added Mr. Gharibpur, “of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and trade, of IMIDRO, of private sector and of big state-owned companies which are executing this project. That is why other big companies have to have a hand in this too, and make this ‘reactivation small mines’ a trend. There is a good atmosphere around project, considering the cooperation and will in this group.”
According to Mr. Gharibpur, if the small mines join the production chain, not only there would be created more jobs and incomes, but they would do a great help in supplying raw minerals.
 
Information on the Small Mines in 5 Provinces of Iran
“We have good amount of efficient information small mines in 5 provinces of Sistan and Baluchestan, Hormozgan, Zanjan, South Khorasan and Markazi, and the information on the  type of mineral, carat, and any other information regarding any needs for reviving these mines have been collected.” Said Seyed Reza Azimi, the executor of the project of reviving and reactivating small mines, “we have reports on the names and numbers of these inactive mines, why they were suspended and how could they be revived.”

15 Other Provinces
According to Mr. Azimi, in addition to the 5 provinces mentioned, 15 other provinces will join the project this year. The mines will be scheduled according to their possible and definite mineral supplies, and minerals’ carat.
“After we collect all the information we need, which is almost finished, we can create consortiums to reactivate these small mines.” Said the CEO of IMPASCO, pointing to the vast amount of information collected which will later serve as basics for investments, “participation of different companies in the form of consortium can enter these inactive mines into the production chain.”
Information, Basics for Investments
“The collected data shows the economic feasibility and mining investments.” Said Bahram Shakuri, the chairman of the Mine and Mining Industry of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, “it also reveals where the location for the processing company around these small mines has to be, and what kind of insurance coverage and financial assistance the investors need for the mines.”
