The chairman of the National Iranian Copper Industry Co. confirmed the plan of increasing copper production up to 400000 tons in this year. Production of more than 260000 tons of cathode is also part of this year’s plan.
According to the Mining Investment Insurance Corporation, “for the first time in this country, production of cathode copper passed 245000 tons in a year,” said Ardeshir Sadmohammadi, “we hope to make it 260000 tons in 2019. We are planning to lunch new investments in order to provide cathode for downstream industries.”
The CEO of the National Iranian Copper Industry Co. informed of the plan to increase copper production up to 400000 tons this year, “we hope to be able to create a balance between mines when it comes to production, and enter new mines into production line so that we could produce more concentrate in the future.
“The confirmed supplies of this material is already more than 22 million tons of pure copper,” Continued Mr. Sadmohammadi, “and if we estimated the copper production for 250000 tons a year, we could only produce for 40 years, but if we find new resources we could have a huge increase the country’s supplies.”
Emphasizing on the purposeful education in the National Iranian Copper Industry Co., the CEO continued: “we hope to be able to provide the up to date techniques in the companies’ structures, and bring more efficiency.
