Mr. Gharibpur: IMIDRO is Investing in 82 Unprivileged Towns
“Iranin Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization has invested in 82 unprivileged towns.” Said IMIDRO’s chairman.

 

According to the Mining Investment Insurance Corporation’s public relations, pointing out that IMIDRO has taken the country’s unprivileged regions into special account, Khodadad Gharibpur said, honoring the Day of Industry and Mine: “from the 108 unprivileged towns, IMIDRO seems to be the only institution that has invested in 82 of them, through mega investments and ‘development and empowering’ strategies.”
According to him, there has been development and infrastructure investments in 48 of these towns, and considering the new discovery operations in 41 less privileged area, 88% of these towns are now involved in IMIDRO and its subsidiary companies’ activities. 
“With designing and executing new project during the last recent years, this organization has started activities in new areas in the country for ‘development and empowering’. The development aspect regards the investment in production scales, creating jobs and developing the exportation, and the empowering aspect is about discoveries, foundations, education, research and technology, health, safety, environment and energy, as well as ‘developing special economic regions’ like the Persian Gulf, Lamerd, Parsian and Kashan.”
 
Investing in Borderline Areas with New Discovery Projects
The vice president of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade said: “one of IMIDRO’s recent activities is the discovery projects in borderline areas like Sistan and Baluchestan, South Khorasan, Khorasan Razavi, North Khorasan, and also provinces like Kordestan, Hormozgan etc. which have been also among the unprivileged areas of our country. On the other hand the project of “Reviving and Reactivating Small Mines” is focusing more on the unprivileged areas. Provinces like Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, the three provinces of Khorasan area, Hormozgan, West Azerbaijan, Bushehr, Sistan and Baluchestan, Kerman and the south of Kerman are among those which are involved in the reviving project.
